What You Can Do About Bad Breath

 There are many causes of chronic halitosis or  bad breath. Bad Breath can be very annoying and embarrasing. Bad Breath is caused by the buildup of plague on teeth. Improper oral health causes bacteria to form and irritates the gums.   If it is left uncared, gum disease can cause beyond bad breath like damage to the jawbone.

Symptoms of Bad Breath are:- Unpleasant odor from the mouth,sour taste,dry mouth.

The common causes of Bad Breath are:- Poor dental hygiene,dehydration, Smoking or chewing Tobacco, Dry mouth, Tonsillitis, infection such as soar throat or sinusitis, ulcers, lactotose intoreance. Other conditions of bad breath are gastroesophageal reflux(GERD) and metabollic disorders can also cause bad breath

How to Fix Bad Breath

Quit Smoking and Tobacoo: Smoking and chewing tobacco leaves chemical in the mouth which are injurious that can cause other serious illness such as Oral cancer, gum disease, tooth decay.

Brush Teeth twice a Day:  By brushing your teeth twice a day it removes plague and any food debris.Its adviced to brush your teeth before going to bed. Plague buildup on the teeth can also lead to a condition called Periodontal Disease. When plague gets harden,it is referred to as Calculus(Tartar). The mild form of gum disease is called Gingivitis. Tartar holds the bacteria which can irritate the gums and lead to gum disease.

Scrape your tongue: Use  a tongue scraper to remove any residue that might be building between the taste buds and folds in your tongue. Tongue Scraper can eliminate the odor causing bacteria,fungi and dead cells on your tongue.

Floss the teeth: Flossing the teeth will remove food debris between the teeth which a toothbrush cant reach. If such debris are ignored, the bacteria will begin to feed on it. Correct Flossing after each meal cuts down the risk of bacteria and plague. It helps to stop Periodontal disease.

Drink Water: Drinking 6 litres of water can avoid dry mouth will avoid dry mouth.Saliva helps to cleanse the mouth. It will keep the odor under control by washing out the food particles.If your feeling parched it means you are dehydrated.

Don't Starve: An empty stomach can cause bad breath as the acid in the stomach forms. Gastric causes bad breath. By eating fresh fruits and veggies can step up in saliva flow by washing away the bacteria from teeth tongue and gums. Drinking buttermilk,coconut water, fresh fruit juices can also aid in keeping dry mouth away. And also prevents from gastric. The bacteria will get washed away.

Dentures or Braces: Loose fitting dentures can cause infection to your mouth.Food debris not properly cleaned from the dentures causes bacteria to form. Visit your Orthodontist for an adjustment.

A first step is to visit a dentist.It may be that you are not cleaning your teeth properly and they will tell you the tips to improve your oral care routine. 

If your bad breath is chronic, if it does not go away with Oral hygiene. If you notice other symptoms such as sores in the mouth, pain while chewing or swallowing, tooth decaying, cavities, white spots on the tonisls, severe dry mouth. You should immediately visit a doctor to diagnose the underlying cause.

TIPS- 

Stay hydrated keep the mouth moist by drinking water it will also flush the food debris.

You can also chew a sugarless gum to stimulate the production of saliva, so your mouth can naturally flush out food particles(saliva has an antimicrobial effect) and can even freshen up your breath. Gums sweetened with 100%xylitol can help reduce cavities. Gums loaded with sugar will stick to your teeth and add problems.

Eat Raw crunchy foods such as Apples, Carrots, Celery because this needs lots of chewing and will keep saliva flowing. It also helps in clearing odor causing plague or bacteria.

Use a Antiseptic Mouth Wash which is alcohol free. This can help kill the bacteria that cause bad breath and plague formation. Adding a fluoride rinse to your daily routine can help prevent tooth decay.

Replace your toothbrush every two months. 

Arrange regular dental cleanings and checkups.

Chew some fennel seeds or cloves.They have antiseptic properties which fight against halitosis causing bacteria. Add some cinnamon(antimicrobial) and probiotic food in your diet.

Rinse your mouth with a cup of water and a teaspoon of baking soda in it which helps to change the ph level in the mouth.
